A while back I posted an entry, that received a lot of attention, about how to add various social bookmarks to your WordPress blog entries. Some people think adding these links to blogs are uselees and create visual noise, while others love the idea and feel it is a great way to receive more traffic from all of the popular traffic-boosting sites. No matter what category you fall into in this little debate, the idea of offering these links does seem to interest a lot of people. Everyday it seems I receive tons of requests from Blogger users searching for a way to add these links to their blogs.

Anyone else out there using Twitter? It is a very easy and fun way of sharing quick information with others around the web. The messages are like little bite-size blog entries. You can subscribe to other people’s status messages, and whenever that person updates you will be notified. Posting can be done from the website, using an IM, or using SMS from a mobile phone. I’m really enjoying this site so far and love reading all sorts of random people’s status messages.

In any case, if you want to see what I’m “twittering” here’s my user page.

Not too long ago I received an email asking if I would be interested in reviewing the Sumo Omni beanbag. I at first was somewhat sceptical, because like most people when I think of beanbag chairs I think of large uncomfortable masses covered in duct tape usually seen in dorm rooms or your cheesy Uncle Frank’s 70′s themed bachelor pad. After a little while of reviewing the website, and seeing that these chairs have turned up at places such as: X-Games, Sundance, and Playboy I decided to give the chair a shot.

On September 1st, which just so happens to be my birthday, I received a rather large package via Fedex. After wrestling with the box out came my new Sumo Omni bag. Once the bag was removed from all its packaging I decided jump right in and do some immediate product testing i.e. doing my best Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka dive onto the bag. I was immediately impressed by how large and durable the bag was. At 4.5′ x 5.5′ it dwarfs conventional beanbags and can easily be manipulated into a full size chair, complete with headrest. It is also washable and rip-proof. I spent the majority of my time using the bag as an enormous floor pillow, watching football and old reruns of Quantum Leap while I wasted away entire Sundays.

The chair has definitely turned out to be a wonderful birthday gift. If you happen to find yourself in the market for a comfortable bean bag chair, be sure to check out their website. At $149 the Sumo Omni is affordable and well worth it. It’s really is great for watching sports, movies, and just hanging out, but be careful because everyone’s going to want to sit in it.

A lot of people I’ve spoke to, and many blog posts I have read have been really unhappy with the new visual editor in WordPress 2.0. It is pretty simple to revert back to the traditional post interface without all the WYSIWYG additions, but a lot of people aren’t sure how, or where to find the option. Click the “Users” menu in the WP admin area to access your profile. Once you are on the “Users” page scroll to the bottom of the page, and uncheck the “Use the visual editor” option. Once you have done this click the save button and you are back to the old, comfortable, pre-2.0 interface that we all love.
