Add Social Bookmarks to Blogger

Tags:

A while back I posted an entry, that received a lot of attention, about how to add various social bookmarks to your WordPress blog entries. Some people think adding these links to blogs are uselees and create visual noise, while others love the idea and feel it is a great way to receive more traffic from all of the popular traffic-boosting sites. No matter what category you fall into in this little debate, the idea of offering these links does seem to interest a lot of people. Everyday it seems I receive tons of requests from Blogger users searching for a way to add these links to their blogs.

I recommend adding the following links to your Blogger template near the bottom of each blog post.

  1. Thanks…it works…but how do I get the icons too?

  2. Zia: In order to get the icons you will need you can right click>save images as. Then you will need to save the images to any image hosting site. You can then reference the image link in your Blogger code.

  3. Thanks Christopher for the prompt reply!

  4. Great! Thanks! Going to use it on my blogspot.

  5. I haven’t tried it, but I’m not convinced it’ll work with the current “new” version of blogger, as they are template tags from the old system.

  6. Best site ever. I am a relatively new blogger. I have read a ton of your articles and blogging is much less intimdating. Thank you and keep this up. I have bookmarked your blog on my social bookmarks. The least I could do.

  7. Excuse me for being ignorant, but where exactly should i insert these codes? Do you need to insert the codes in each separate post? Or is it possible to insert them into the main template and they will then always appear? many thanks

  8. You can see the links/icons in action at my movie blog http://eriksmovies.blogspot.com/.

  9. Click into any movie page on my movie review website http://www.movie-source.com/ and you can see these social bookmarking links in action as well. I use Javascript function that quickly takes in multiple social bookmarking sites.
