Recently I have been dealing with some very frustrating health issues. I’m not a fan of going to the doctor and usually put it off as long as I’m able, but after being harassed by family and friends for a while I finally decided to go to the doctor to get checked out. After my first visit, which was more or less talking with the doctor I was asked to schedule an EGD.

The EGD procedure consisted of a doctor slamming a tube/camera down my throat and taking a good look around. Following this oh so pleasant procedure I was told to contact the doctor after a few days for the results.

After waiting a few days I spoke with my doctor and was told that things were not as serious as originally thought. The doctor then explained that there was nothing he could do to remedy any of my problems only treat them. So, I was advised to drastically reduce my stress levels, begin drinking this wonderful metallic tasting gritty liquid/paste prescription, and remove all of the following foods from my diet:

  • All fried foods
  • Raw Tomatoes
  • All Tomato-based foods
  • Raw Onions
  • Cooked Onions
  • All peppers
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Chocolate
  • Cola or any carbonated beverages
  • Peanuts
  • Dairy products
  • Ice cream
  • Alcohol
  • Mints
  • All Spicy foods
  • Citrus fruits and juices

I wanted to come right out and ask the doctor – “Good Lord man, what else is there really left to eat?!?”

Comments

  1. Im sorry to hear you are having health problems. Hope the diet helps. I would love to see the list of things you CAN eat :-P All 3 things. HAHA

    Good luck mate!

  2. It would have been easier if your doctor told you to go f*** yourself up and commit suicide! Sorry, but that’s how it looks to me. So you can’t eat anything.

I say, have fun, eat what you want an ride like the wind. :)

Seriously, the best way, really, is to take everything in moderation.

  3. Those EGD are no fun. I had one a few years ago, and the doc found about twelve ulcers. He gave me a prescribed diet of plain, white rice for about 8 – 12 weeks with a heavy helping of the same chalky paste(think half-dried pepto without the pink and plenty of stink). Yum.

  4. Aren’t doctors supposed to make people feel better??! :S

    Best wishes
