Add Links for Del.icio.us, Digg, and More to Blog Posts
To add a quick link on your blog to all of the popular traffic-boosting sites like Paul over at paulstamatiou.com does at the bottom of each of his posts, simply add the code below to your single entry PHP file, main PHP file, or both. I added the following code to my single entry PHP file. I also included the icons for all the sites in case you want to save those and add those with the links on your site.
Del.icio.us

<a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=<?php the_permalink() ?>&title=<?php the_title(); ?>">Del.icio.us</a>
Digg

<a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=<?php the_permalink() ?>">Digg</a>
Technorati

<a href="http://technorati.com/cosmos/search.html?url=<?php the_permalink() ?>">Technorati</a>
Blinklist

<a href="http://blinklist.com/index.php?Action=Blink/addblink.php&url=<?php the_permalink() ?>&Title=<?php the_title(); ?>" >Blinklist</a>
Furl

<a href="http://furl.net/storeIt.jsp?t=<?php the_title(); ?>&u=<?php the_permalink() ?>">Furl</a>

<a href="http://reddit.com/submit?url=<?php the_permalink() ?>&title=<?php the_title(); ?>" >reddit</a>

What I did was add that code to the very top of my comments.php file. I guess it depends on your specific theme, but I’ve found this works for several people using different themes.
Great idea!
I added mine into my sidebar.php.
If you’re using K2, place the code at the top of your comments page.
Kristin: I really like how you incorporated the code on the sidebar. Very nice!
David: If you are using K2 or any theme you can place the links pretty much anywhere you like. I just suggested the single post PHP file because that is how I’ve seen it implemented the most.
Wow, thanks so much for this!!! I’ve been looking for exactly this!

Thanks for the code, was quite easy to implement this, Thanks
[...] Now it’s time for a brief explanation of what everything does in that messy chunk of code. <?php the_permalink() ?> asks WordPress the URL of the page you are on while <?php the_title(); ?> lets WordPress give you the title of the current page (it’s what goes in the browser title bar). Most social bookmarking sites have a certain way of accepting URLs (feed via the permalink query) and titles (the_title query). I also coded alt attributes for each link for the accessibility required by XHTML valid code for images. Now you can look at that code in a different light – one that you understand. You can find more about the syntax for social bookmarking sites over at Exploding Boy, who just added a post about adding a Newsvine link. [...]

Errr… obviously you need to fill in the php code for the permalink and the title in the above comment. They were filtered out by your comment script.
