Wish for Wordpress

I’d love to have a search function within the actual textfields of Wordpress. It would help being able to search for certain code in Wordpress’ Theme Editor when modifying the php files or searching through the entire stylesheet for a certain style for minor editing. It would also be helpful to search for a specific word or sentence in text-heavy entries to make any changes. Am I the only one that thinks this would be helpful?

  1. Try PHP Designer, it’s free… when coding php it’s color coded too!

  2. I think that would be a cool function. With hundreds of lines on a single stylesheet, my eyes get so tired looking for specific texts.

So I end up copying everything onto Taco so that I can use its search function.

If WordPress had this function installed, what a better world it would be! :)

  3. Hi Christopher,
There is a plugin called Write Post Find that provides similar functionatliy for the post editing area, with a little tweaking you should be able to make this work for stylesheet editing as well - I’d think.
    Good luck!

  4. Oliver: Thanks, the Write Post Find plugin seems to be exactly what I wanted.
BTW you have a gorgeous site. I am defintely adding it to my bookmarks.
