A few days ago while browsing through my logs I noticed an odd address listed. Upon futher investigation, it seems that a small Japanese porn site (name withheld for the time being) had been using a very familiar looking website, and had been hotlinking some images off of my server–Layout images, not Japanese porn images! I have done research and have emailed who I believe to be the offender. I’m going to give it a day or two, then possibly contact the webhost. Anyone have advice on further measures? If I don’t hear back soon I suppose I could change the image names to something else, but really what image could I use to embarass a website with tentacle porn?
Use images full of Bible scriptures.

I would setup a rewrite rule for any image hotlinked. The new image…remember goatse?
I woke up one morning and found a pr0n site using my theme for WordPress. But since I released it for public use, I can’t say a thing. My dad was pretty furious though… I think he thought I started the pr0n site..

How about something like:
“This site is being shut down by the FBI for affiliations with Child Pornography. Your IP Address has been logged and forwarded to the FBI.”
That’ll teach the f**kers.

Those are all good ideas, I especially like littlecharva’s suggestion. If I don’t hear anything by the end of the month. I shall unleash hell…or at least try to talk them into giving me a free lifetime subscription!
Can’t you alter your .htaccess file to prevent hotlinking? I’m such a n00b!
Best idea i have ever heard of is changing the linked image to something incredibly offensive. Saw this on someone elses site that was hotlinking recently…. they changed the image to one of a superhero getting reared, awesome!
